Airfix HMS Victory reflects the glory of the battleship in its hey day, which has flown the flag of Francis Drake during its time in service. Back at the time of its launch in the 18th century Victory would have had a crew of more than 800 men, with 100 guns giving it an awesome fire-power for the time. The ship would have been feared by enemy sailors, while being the pride of the Royal Navy.

Nelson himself was killed while pacing the Quarter Deck, after Victory was engaged by the French ship, Redoubtable. A lone gunner from Redoubtable managed to fire a musket shot at Nelson, mortally wounding him. Today, if you visit the ship at Portsmouth, you'll find that the spot where Admiral Nelson fell is marked by a brass plaque.
